The ambulance service that covers Northamptonshire has revealed nearly 70 cases of assault against paramedics have been reported over a 12-month period.
The report by the East Midlands Trust also shows action had been taken against 45 people including anti-social behaviour orders, banning orders and even imprisonment.
Bosses say the organisation topped an NHS league table for taking legal action against people who`d assaulted frontline paramedics.
Meanwhile the East of England Ambulance Service which covers Peterborough and Cambridgeshire has revealed there were 195 assaults against paramedics across the region over the same 12 month period.
The figure`s up from 188 the previous year.
Bosses say legal action was taken against 90 of those who assaulted frontline staff.
