Northamptonshire’s Crime Commissioner is insisting the proposed ‘Stratetgic Alliance’ with Nottighamshire and Leicestershire police is not a merger.
Senior officers have agreed a single policing model for all three forces is potentially viable.
But, Adam Simmonds says they’d retain their own identity.
Meanwhile, Northamptonshire Police have confirmed its control room isn’t being outsourced to private security firm G4S.
The collapsed deal also looked at the possibility of control rooms being taken over in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
