Businesses have the chance to win an e-bike this January by showing Travelchoice their current travel plans or corporate policies to encourage employees to travel sustainably.
The prize draw for this battery-powered cycle is open to organisations with a current business travel plan, as well as those creating a plan for the first time.
A business travel plan is a set of measures that provide your staff with more efficient and environmentally friendly options for travelling to work and on business.
In order to qualify, the travel plan must include data from a 2015 staff travel survey and contain up-to-date site information.
Businesses that don’t have a travel plan can also enter a draw for road safety gadgets, by submitting their green travel policy. The policy should include any measures to support staff cycling, walking, public transport use or car sharing.
Organised by Travelchoice Peterborough, entries to the draw are accepted from Friday 1 January to Friday 15 January 2016.
Businesses can enter by emailing their up-to-date 2015 travel plan to email@example.com, with information about what s new in their travel plan this year and why they should win the top prize of an e-bike – a bike that is powered by battery – for their organisation. Five second prizes of hybrid bikes will also be up for grabs.
Esther Baffa-Isaacs, Peterborough City Council s sustainable travel officer said: “The aim of the prize draw is to incentivise businesses to keep their travel plans up-to-date or, equally, to get businesses making these corporate plans to promote sustainable travel for the first time.
“There are many reasons for creating a travel plan. Some organisations, for example, have limited space for employees to park, while other businesses are now committed to improving their environmental performance.
