A bungling burglar – who targetted two homes in Peterborough – has been jailed for 15 months.
Nothing was taken but 28 year old Shane Gomez of no fixed address was caught after leaving traces of his blood behind
A court heard he broke into the properties in the Fletton area in November last year.
In the first, th ehouse in Glebe Road was empty.
But, in the seocnd, the homeowner, a man in his 40s, was asleep on the sofa when he heard breaking glass.
As he went into the kitchen, he saw Gomez’s head and shoulders as he climbed through a window.
Gomez was tracked to an address in Neptune Close, Peterborough, where he was arrested on suspicion of burglary and later charged.
