A disabled man fought off a robber who threatened him with a knife in a Peterborough park.
The 61-year-old victim was travelling through Werrington Park on his mobility scooter at about 3.30pm on Monday (June 13) when a man jumped out of bushes near Church Street.
He was holding a knife and demanded money and the victim s watch.
However, he refused to hand them over and struck the man with his walking stick. The man made off towards Hastings Road.
He was described as white, with tanned skin, 23 or 24, slim and between 5 4 and 5 9 , with mousey brown hair and stubble. He was wearing a grey hooded top, blue jeans and dark trainers.
DC Sarah Phillips said: This was a cowardly crime against a vulnerable man who bravely defended himself.
I am keen to catch this person as soon as possible and I would urge anyone who recognises the description to contact police.
Anyone with information should contact DC Phillips, at Thorpe Wood Police Station, on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
