Speedway – The rich history of Peterborough Panthers will be in the spotlight tomorrow night.
Well-known supporter Kev ‘The Rev’ Austin has organised the ‘Big Panthers Reunion’ at the Post Office Club in Bourges Boulevard (doors open 7pm).
More than 20 riders from the club’s past are confirmed as attending the event.
Originals such as Richard Greer, Pete Saunders and Pete Seaton from the debut season in 1970 will be joined by more recent stars such as Kenneth Bjerre, Kenneth Hansen and reigning British champion Danny King, who will be bringing his national title along with him.
Other notable riders in attendance include club greats such as Brian Clark, Dave Allen and Kevin Hawkins, while Nigel Flatman has arranged a visit from his home in Australia around this bash.
“I’m confident this is going to be the most nostalgic event in Panthers’ history,” said Austin.
There will also be a raffle and merchandise available on the night.
Entry is by a donation of at least £2 which will go to the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.
