Peterborough`s heritage is being showcased over the next few days.
Twenty-six different venues across the city are taking part in the Heritage Open Days celebration from today until Sunday.
Historic or unusual buildings will open their doors to invite visitors to admire intriguing interiors and special displays that aren`t usually open to the public or that make a charge.
Among the attractions will be a tour of a city centre Georgian townhouse and people can look at the city archives to learn of the documents recording Peterborough’s history that have been preserved.
The Peterborough Heritage Open Days brochure, prepared jointly by Peterborough Civic Society, Peterborough Cathedral, Peterborough City Council and Vivacity Peterborough is available on-line at the Peterborough Civic Society website (http://www.peterboroughcivicsociety.org.uk/heritage-open-days.php) and copies are also available at the Peterborough Visitor Centre, local libraries, the Cathedral and elsewhere.
