Five Peterborough charities and good causes are set to receive a thousand pounds each from the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
Residents were asked to nominate their favourite local cause to receive a cash injection.
The appeal was launched as a lasting legacy to Jane Tomlinson who died from cancer in 2007 at the age of just 43.
Before she lost her battle with the disease she raised nearly two million pounds for children’s and cancer charities through a series of gruelling endurance feats.
The successful causes are No Gain No Pain UK, Personalised Eating Disorder Support (PEDS), Cruse Peterborough, Inspire Peterborough and Carers Trust Cambridgeshire & Peterborough.
