Authorities in Wisbech are proposing a phased approach to major transport redevelopment plans in the town.
The Southern Access Road scheme is part of a strategy designed to cut congestion and support economic growth.
But – residents and businesses have raised concerns that the road could prevent the reopening of a train station in the town centre.
Now – following public consultations – a new roundabout will be built on the A47 at Wisbech South – so that different locations could still be easily connected.
If approval’s received the project may receive ten million pounds in extra funding.
