A clean up operation’s continuing after a part of Northamptonshire was hit by flash flooding.
70 homes were affected when a significant amount of unusually intense rainfall fell in the Far Cotton and Briar Hill areas of Northampton on Sunday which lead to surface water flooding.
Northamptonshire County Council as lead local flood authority for the county will co-ordinate an independent investigation to better understand what factors contributed to the flooding.
People are reminded that if there is a danger to life in a flood situation they should contact Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue on 999 or 112.
