As the dry hot weather continues-the water company that serves Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire says there isn’t a shortage of supplies in the area.
Anglian Water says despite one of the driest Junes on record reservoirs like Rutland Water, Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire and Pitsford Water near Northampton are currently 93 per cent full which is above average for the time of year.
The other half comes from groundwater sources.
The utility firm says demand for water’s increased by 20 per cent in recent weeks.
It was announced today that United Utilities was banning seven million people from using hosepipes and sprinklers in the north west of England, but there are no plans in this area to follow suit.
