Northamptonshire Police has introduced a scheme to help keep dementia sufferers safe.
The Herbert Protocol is being rolled out in the county – and is designed to speedily find information if someone goes missing.
It will encourage families and carers to compile key information on a form – including a description, photo, medical information, favourite locations, hobbies and routines.
It can then easily be handed to police if they can’t be located.
A spokesperson says the simple steps can help turn a stressful situation into a fast resolution.
