A former teacher at a school in Peterborough has been struck off – after being found guilty of possessing class A drugs.
Julian McAlpine was a science teacher and tutor at Jack Hunt School – becoming a permanent member of staff in September 2016.
He was arrested after a raid on his home in July 2017 – and admitted possessing the drugs – after which he was fined 800 pounds.
But McAlpine insisted he never took them onto school premises.
He can appeal the decision to ban him from teaching – or ask for a review in five years time.
