The connection between Kimbolton School and Kimbolton Fireworks has deep roots with the founder of Kimbolton Fireworks having been the Science Master at the school for a number of years before setting up the now World famous Kimbolton Fireworks. The Kimbolton Fireworks and Kimbolton Castle display stretches back over several decades and the display is hosted nowadays by the KSPA the fundraising and events team of parents and staff of Kimbolton School.
The 2018 display will be the biggest and best so far, but with a poignant note with a thoughtful and emotional tribute to the 100 year anniversary of the World War 1 armistice.
Russ Gooderham, display coordinator for this years display has some truly special effects lined up for us, including a Poppy effect firework that you will see in the tribute section of the display.
The grounds of the Castle are the most magnificent setting for the annual display with the Castle itself the backdrop to the lights and laser show and viewing ground offering perfect viewing of the whole fireworks show which will start a minute or two after 8pm
The gates open at 6pm and parking is free on site. The event Post code is PE280EA
The event will be hosted by Gregg from Connect FM and to keep our guests entertained we have a live music stage, with DJ Jack from JL discos getting the crowd warmed up before we hand over to the Indie Killers for a pre-firework brilliant live music performance. We have a special live guest on stage to help us start the display. Our friends at the Beacon Wealth Group have helped us secure BBC Children in Need’s Pudsey Bear to help our team of special young guests press the plunger to start the display.
As well as the live entertainment we also have a fairground, an eclectic mix of food vendors with something to tempt any appetite large or small, sweet or savoury. There is also a licensed bar featuring our winter warmer Mulled Wine.
Once the fireworks end the party carries on with the Indie Killers coming back on stage as well as Jack from JL to keep you entertained while the crowds slip away.
We have 12 sets of family tickets for 2 adults and 2 children [kids under 16 are free] to give away. Just answer this question using the form below by midnight on Thursday 1st November for your chance to win!
Kimbolton Fireworks were the Supplier of Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Displays (Ceremonies) to the London Olympics. In which year were they held? Was it 1982, 1992 or 2012?
About Kimbolton Fireworks.
Reverend Ron Lancaster MBE founded Kimbolton Fireworks in a small workshop and continued his research in pyrotechnics for the firework industry. Little did he know that from those humble beginnings, his company would one day provide displays for occasions as grand as the handover of Hong Kong, St Patrick’s Day, Dublin, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve Display, London Eye. In 2012, Kimbolton Fireworks were the Supplier of Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Displays (Ceremonies) to the London 2012 Games.
The company is still a family-run business and our passion for fireworks burns brightly. Today we are the only UK manufacturer of Display Fireworks marrying ongoing research and development with traditional methods to produce ever more exciting and unique fireworks.
Tickets for the Kimbolton Castle display are £12.50 for Adults. Children under 16 are free. Parking is also free and is available and signposted from every arrival direction into Kimbolton.
